Sex? What's that?

You know for a guy, its pretty embarrassing to be reminded of intercourse... like its not something that normally flashes through our heads once every couple of seconds go by.
Being raised an African-American male in the 80s, I was exposed to plenty animated examples of how to live my life. Transformers taught me morals and teamwork, G I Joe taught me never to join military of any kind, He-man and Conan taught me that pissing contests wont always get the girl, The Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters taught me diet and etiquette etc... Strangely enough, when I would go to school my female counterparts wouldn't have the same perspicacity or tact for my type of programming... Seemed their programming was full of brighter colors, a lot less action, confusing dialogue and drama...

I grew a bit, and saw a trend in the storytelling, even involved in the movies geared toward little girls vs little boys.. Boys that saw my Transformers and Ninja Turtles shows and movies were brought up with themes of adventure, never-ending conflict, good vs evil, winning something, being better than others and any opposing forces should die a horrible death or face a similar fate. The girls however, with their Rainbow *Brite*, and Sleeping Beauty etc... The girls I found trends of fun-seeking, cute worship, social manipulation, happy endings + kids, winning HIM, being better than others and any opposing forces will meet some serious sass with a well placed insult to boot.

It seems we are programmed fairly similarly.. its like a parallel in certain areas, a parallel on two sides of a spectrum, in other areas the same... Its eery how in America there is an underlying drive in elementary schools on up to be better than everyone rather than the best this or the best that. Maybe being the best follower, or the best listener, but no our system drives for you to be the best listener, AND follower AND leader AND etc. It pains me as well to see the conflicts that rise out of the programming we had received. In Transformers there was NEVER a happy ending, just a battle that ends at the end of the episode/movie... the WAR never ended. In My Little Pony everyone got to sleep soundly in Dream Valley EVERY NIGHT without any robberies, spiders or none of that shit us guys were getting programmed for.

In more ambiguous shows such as DuckTales or Chip and Dale (Rescue Rangers) the perception of greed (Scrooge McDuck) and lust (Gadget) are present and have a tiny hint towards either gender role. I feel as if guys want to be like Scrooge and jump into a pool of money, and the gals respect how he's a funny old zillionaire. Or Gadget is the chipmunk all of the homies wanted to smash, and all the shorties want to be/look like/whatever. Matter of fact, I think my ex looks kinda like her now that I think about it...

My bad, my point was that I feel men and women clash in a lot of different ways because woman look at life (possibly) as an exciting story narrated by (fill in the blank) that ends happily ever after (with kids sometimes), and men look at it as an exciting adventure flying through a battlefield where you kill or get killed and the war is never over. I feel as if that applies to how people look at marriage together, moving in with one another, what to do for date night, who's going to clean the dishes tonight etc... I feel as if after we grow out of the cartoons (for the most part) we look at the same things but see different outcomes naturally due to our programming.

Like look at these sentences;

'He could lead if he would get the lead out of his ass.'
'The insurance was invalid for the invalid.'
'They were too close to the door to close it.'
'At the base, a bass was painted on the head of a bass drum.'

like you see how one word might not even sound like the other word spelled exactly alike? That's the shit I'm talking about, our culture is more convoluted than the English language.

So getting back to the topic at hand... Sex. What's that? Its when the convolution evolves into collaboration.

Collaborate with your local artist, be safe,and if the place isn't that clean, just imagine you're 'collaborating' here;
